Navigating Social Change

"It is better to stand wisely than to run foolishly". We hear this humorous phrase more than once from the mouths of sports commentators. It is surprising how many areas of life it applies to.

Let's try it with social organizations. People in the third sector are usually full of goodwill, ideas, and the enthusiasm and energy to make them happen. They are constantly on the go - solving problems that pile up and putting out fires. Unfortunately, they often lack the time to stop and think about where they are going. What problem are they trying to solve? What do they want to accomplish? What is the best way to do it?

Every organization faces these questions and must somehow answer them to implement activities. However, it is not uncommon for these answers to be born out of struggle rather than structured reflection.

About NaviForum

We believe that meaningful social action requires effective navigation. This involves the aspects of organizational management related to determining the course of action—from diagnosis to strategy and evaluation. Navigation helps an organization select the right path, allowing it to fulfill its mission more effectively and efficiently.

NaviForum was created out of the conviction that we are not alone in recognizing the importance of navigation.

We hope it will serve as a space where representatives of social organizations and their supporters can meet and share experiences. We invite all who share our belief that, in the world of the third sector—much like on a football field—"it is better to stand wisely than to run foolishly."

ORGANIZER

NaviForum is organized and initiated by the research and consulting team of the Shipyard Foundation. As a foundation, we have been helping to solve social problems for more than 15 years, involving citizens in public affairs and supporting organizations and local governments in planning social activities. We work to disseminate best practices, create tools, conduct social research, and provide training and educational materials. We believe that evaluating activities' impact and considering their relevance and quality is particularly important in social ventures. Successful activities require good navigation - thoughtful, strategic planning and analysis of the changing environment.
