Plan For Planning - key aspects of preparing for the strategic process for NGOs

5 grudnia 2024 11:30:00

Experience sharing session

This session is designed for individuals who want to better understand how to effectively prepare a non-governmental organization (NGO) for the strategy development process. During the meeting, we will discuss important considerations and pitfalls to avoid from both the NGO's perspective and that of the consultant or expert. We aim to ensure that the strategy development process is efficient and seamless.

The workshop will focus on essential elements to consider at the outset of strategic processes, such as ensuring the legitimacy of the process, determining the scale and scope of team involvement, defining the leader's role, fostering readiness for change, and integrating the strategy with other management processes. Additionally, this session will provide an opportunity to share both positive and challenging experiences regarding the relationships between contractors and NGOs.

The Center for Strategic Consulting (CDS) has been supporting public institutions and NGOs in effective strategic planning and management for almost a quarter of a century. We specialize in creating development strategies, conducting public consultations and participatory activities, carrying out social research and evaluation, and raising external funds.

Our experience in the NGO sector includes, among others, 9 editions of stationary training courses "GPS for organizations - or how to strategically plan the development of an organization" for NGO managers under the Promengo program. In cooperation with the Academy of Civil Organizations Foundation, we have also developed a set of e-learning trainings on strategic planning and management for NGOs. We carry out a variety of strategic processes tailored to the individual needs of NGOs: from strictly expert to participatory with active participation of teams and strategic coaching sessions to support managers.
